Blue Heron

I believe this is a heron, and this is one of those times that I wish I have a better camera to zoom in for better pictures. I spotted this blue heron while driving by a little pond. I was on the other side of the road when I see it and after pulling over, yes I did, my camera zoomed all the way in.

It was thrilling to see wild life in the middle of busy city environment, but it was too bad I could see it in more details.

Thanks for being here!

  1. How exciting to see him! Blue Herons are one of my favorite birds, I think they are just magnificent. And they remind me of being at the beach, which is always a good thing :) Kat

  3. I know the feeling of excitement to see a great photo op but the disapointment of not being able to capture it because of our camera. Still you can clearly see this is a blue heron so all was not lost.

  4. It is amazing to see them. We live on Coastal Georgia and we also live near an open, wildlife fish hatchery...and so we see many white egrets, seagulls, and some herons too :o) They are awesome to watch fly.

    Blessings & aloha!

  5. Herons are such slow fliers that they are very cautious about allowing people to get too close! I have a point and shoot camera, too, and I know what you mean!

  8. I think these are good photos and I can see it well. I'll give you a tip for closeups when your camera does not have a good zoom.

If you have a photo software program, trim the photo around the subject, in this case, the heron and once trimmed, the subject will appear closer. Try it and see if you like the result.

  10. I have a pretty sweet camera, I think to me, but it isn't great at zooming either.
