Little Bee On Purple Flower

I have no idea what this flower is called, but was drawn to its color immediately after I saw it. The plants grew quite tall, and thick. They were full of these beautiful purple color flowers, and yes, a magnet field for bees of all sizes.

While taking pictures of this flower, I just wanted to avoid getting sting since the buzzing around me was fiercely. I spotted this little bee only after uploading the pictures onto my computer. It was a pleasant surprise.

The bee was busy with its job, and so was I. We both left each other alone to do what we do best. I found that when I was among the bees, they didn't bother me at all. I tried to stay as still as I could and got away as soon as I can.

  7. Beautiful shot Mumsy, and I love that you captured the bee. Isn't it fun to find unexpected treasures when we see what we've shot? The flower is really pretty, is it a type of spider mum or maybe an aster? Love the color. Kathy

  14. adorable little flower...i've never been intimidated by bees, or any insects, they will only sting if they think they are under attack...like if you're flailing your arms around or something.

  17. lovely flower - it is risky isn't it taking photos with bees and wasps about - I would not go near a flower to take a photo if there was a wasp on it!

  18. Beautifully colored flower. I know how you feel around the bees especially when trying to get closeup shots. However, they are so busy I think they don't even care we are there. These are great shots.

  20. What gorgeous color Mumsy! So vibrant. Bees are such showoffs aren't they? They are always staying around for the photos, not like other critters. :-)
